Hayrides, college football, and pumpkin flavored everything! It’s October and with it comes fall fashion, carpets of crunchy leaves and Halloween movie marathons!

In 1878, the world witnessed the invention of motion photography. That first film was only a few seconds long, but it was understood that the possibilities were infinite. From that point, it only took 20 more years for the world to get its first experience of horror on film.

In 1898, the movie Le Manoir du Diable, released in the U.S. as The Haunted Castle, hit theaters. Since then, the genre has exploded into several sub-genres, including but not limited to: action horror, comedy horror, disaster horror, holiday horror, psychological horror, slasher, gothic horror, zombie horror, low-budget horror, supernatural horror, science fiction horror, and the list goes on and on.
